Last year your generous Giving Tuesday donations helped us purchase a new custom cart and cover for our program for Bear to use (pictured above)! This allowed us to serve more people last year and helped our students have more carriage time with the horses!
Our program has provided over 4,000 individualized lessons, all funded entirely by donations. We are a no cost, donation only facility. All of our services are provided free of charge to our students and their families.
One of our therapy horses, Silver, is needing to see his workload decreased. He has faithfully served our students since its inception but is a “senior citizen” and is heading toward partial retirement. As many of you know, we have a lengthy waitlist of people ready to start therapy with us. Silver has been our main lesson horse and, with his retirement, we need to add another therapy horse to our rotation.
Our horses take years of specialized training to be able to participate in our program. This year we have a big ask – $3,000 for a new, trained miniature horse for our specialized therapy program.
With another horse in our stable, we’ll be able to give Silver the retirement he needs, continue our programing and address our waitlist. If we are able to raise any additional funds over our goal, they will go directly to care for our therapy horses (each horse requires ~ $1000 a year in care, feed, etc).
